An Elegant Safari at Ruaha River Lodge

Ruaha River Lodge offers an up-close perspective of what is one of Tanzania’s most iconic national parks, between two captivating locations.

Each of the locations capitalise on Ruaha’s diverse landscapes to show off an unparalleled diversity of wildlife and birdlife. From its lofty perch atop a kopje, the dining area provides panoramic vistas of the Ruaha River as it carves a way towards the Rufiji River System, eventually flowing into the Indian Ocean. From this elevated viewpoint, hippo can be seen bobbing in the water as elephant approach for a refreshing drink. The Ruaha River invites a large variety of wildlife and birds to its banks to be admired from each banda or the riverside firepit.

Riverside Bandas at Ruaha River Lodge

Nestled amidst the riverine acacia forest, Ruaha River Lodge is at the heart of the action, with 24 spacious, en-suite stone bandas boasting uninterrupted views of the water. Each elegant banda extends onto a large, private wooden deck that descends to a secluded seating area along the riverbank – a playground for the park’s abundant birdlife.
